Review:

The Brides of Penhally Bay comes to a poignant close with Margaret McDonagh's fabulous contribution to the series: A Mother for the Italian's Twins!

Dr. Polly Carrick's life has not been a fairytale. Having lost her mother when she was only a child, she grew up scared, terrified and horrified by a father who lost no time in demeaning her and in chipping away at what little self-esteem she had. In the close-knit community of Penhally Bay, Polly was tired of being pitied by neighbours, so at seventeen she had left her home town behind and went to medical school in London where she vowed never to set foot in Penhally ever again. But fate has other plans for Polly...

After a personal disappointment, Polly finds herself accepting her godmother's Kate proposition of joining the Penhally practice as the new general practioner. Coming back home is not an easy decision to make, but with few options open to Polly, she realizes that she needs to face the demons from her past and to put them to bed.

Italian doctor Dr. Luca D'Azzaro has also come to Penhally to put the past to rest. After the death of his wife, Luca had foregone his passion for pediatric medicine to become a GP and thus be able to look after his twin daughters. Since Elaine's death, he hasn't so much as looked at another woman, so he is surprised when he finds himself drawn to shy Polly.

But Polly cannot allow herself to trust another man ever again. However, Luca's charm, kindess and his ability to understand soon has her opening up to the gentle Italian. Yet, like Polly, Luca has demons of his own which he must face.

Can these two flawed souls learn to stop clinging on to the past and to embrace their future?

A Mother for the Italian's Twins is absolutely fantastic! Margaret McDonagh makes you feel every emotion which her characters go through and you are sure to wipe away many a tear as you read this tender, touching and fabulously tantalizing medical romance!

With characters that are impossible not to care about, heartfelt romance, a realistic conflict and a powerful story, A Mother for the Italian's Twins is simply unmissable!
