He'd certainly never set eyes on—much less gone to bed with—Tula Barrons. That he would have remembered. Yet businessman Simon Bradley agreed to let Tula and her infant cousin—a child she claimed was his—stay in his mansion until he had proof of the little boy's paternity.

But having Tula under his roof revealed something unexpected—her father had once nearly destroyed Simon's business. The billionaire now had the perfect opportunity for revenge. He could seduce Tula and take away the baby she loved…but if he succeeded, he could lose all he'd come to care for.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

Maureen Child has written a heart warming love story with Have Baby, Need Billionaire. What this billionaire didn’t know was he had a son and that the lovely Tula Barrons and his son, in the end would steal Simon Bradley, the ruthless businessman’s heart!

In Maureen Child’s Christmas love story The Wrong Brother (Under the Millionaire’s Mistletoe) the reader met Anna Cameron and her best friend Tula Barrons. Tula writes children’s books, a “Lonely Bunny” series. The Cameron’s have been like family to Tula because even though her parents were divorced she relied on her friendship with Anna and the warmth she felt with the Cameron’s because it had been missing from her life. Her mother just as soon as she graduated from high school left town and basically her father years later disowned her because she wouldn't live her life his way. Now she was taking care of her cousins baby, actually had custody of Nathan because his mother had died in a car accident.

Tula had to get in touch with Simon Bradley, the man who was Nathan’s father, the same man that didn’t know he had a son. It was her intention to make sure Nathan and his father would adjust and then she would be on her way back home. Sound easy? Definitely not because the little boy had over the weeks she cared for him had stolen her heart. Of course, she wondered what kind of a man Simon Bradley was and when she went to tell him the news, she was immediately aware of him physically and that bothered her, even though she knew he was the same ruthless businessman, just like her father. One up tight buttoned up man who lived by schedules and was a workaholic. Not her type, no way even though when she shook his hand, the sparks flew and her fingers tingled.

Talk about being center punched in his gut! A son he didn’t know about and the mother was dead? Well he needed a plan and the plan was for Tula to leave her hometown with the baby and move into his mansion in San Francisco. But first the paternity test even though he knew in his heart the baby was his. Tula and baby literally took over his home, but that’s not all they took over because in the end he really enjoyed having them both there, they brightened up his home plus she intrigued him, she was beautiful, sexy, warm and she and Nathan brought sunshine into his home. His life had been orderly and he had brought his father’s failed business from ruin to a successful chain of department stores. However, no thanks to the man that almost ruined them and cost them their home, Jacob Hawthorne. The very same snake that was always purchasing property Simon wanted, the man he hated, and he wanted revenge. What Simon didn’t know was his arch enemy was actually Tula’s father.

Tula and Simon definitely had chemistry and I wondered how they would both survive their attraction for each other. I also wondered what sort of father Simon would become. The days up until he found out the paternity results Simon held himself back.  When the results turned out to be positive, everything changed not only for Simon but also for Tula. All of her life, Tula had wanted a family, to feel the warmth of love and now while living in his home, watching him with the baby, the sexual attraction between them, it was all too perfect and I knew in my heart that this would end badly especially for her because of her big heart. And what would happen when Simon found out who her father was because that surely would come out? He had absolutely no idea who Tula was because she didn’t use the Hawthorne last name. He had his best friend Mick who he employed investigate Tula’s background just to make sure she was everything she said and then the bomb was dropped when he found out who her dad was. On top of everything else, they had slept together and he still wanted her even though he wondered if she was working with her father to try to bring him down.  As Nathan’s guardian, she held all of the power.  However, Simon knew he could prove he would be a good father.

Simon thought of Tula night and day but he still had a plan to bring down her father.  He would throw their relationship in his face and then send Tula packing. His friend told him it would backfire and it did, it cost them both so much and trust me, you’ll cry for all three of them. Tula was so kind hearted, so loving, an incredible mother who only wanted both Nathan and Simon……a family, the warm and wonderful family she never had as a child. And then the rug was pulled out from both of them. Shock for Simon when he confronted Jacob Hawthorne.  Nothing but sadness and heartbreak for Tula when Simon revealed his meeting with her father.

Sadness does not even describe what I felt for Simon Bradley, the man who lived my his own rules and a orderly life. Because as the last chapters unfolded I had hoped that he would see what was right before his eyes and it wouldn’t be to late. Heartbroken, Tula left but she couldn’t return home because she had promised to do a reading and booking signing for her latest “Lonely Bunny” book.   You absolutely won’t want to miss the last chapters of Have Baby, Need Billionaire because Maureen Child's gives this couple a most beautiful and happy ending and the wonderful family they both so deserve.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

"THE WRONG BROTHER" BY MAUREEN CHILD

The Wrong Brother was certainly a holiday hit as only Maureen Child's can pen. It’s sexy, steamy and seriously fun because the tables were turned on both Sam Hale and Anna Cameron.

The title “The Wrong Brother” describes the book to a tee. Why one might ask?  Because for a brief time Sam’s younger brother had been dating Anna Cameron.   A relationship that Sam broke up because he believed Anna Cameron was a gold digger. Cameron Leather was in trouble and it was owned by Anna’s father, a father she loved and adored. And her stepmother wanted the best for her husband and she wanted Anna to get back together with Garrett Hale. So at her father’s holiday party for his employees she hid from her tipsy stepmother until her father coaxed her to quit hiding behind the potted palm. Step mom on the chase, Anna spotted a tall man standing under the mistletoe and asked him to save her life by kissing her. The kiss was magical and explosive, and she didn't want it to end.

Sparks exploded between Anna and the stranger she was  kissing. It was everything she had ever dreamed of and more, until she found out that the very same man was in fact, Sam Hale. Talk about a fun first encounter. She couldn’t get that kiss out of her head but was determined to do so. As her business was also slow, when she received a call from a woman requesting a quote for a mural to be commissioned for her mansion, Anna jumped at the chance. What she didn’t know was that it was Sam’s housekeeper getting her there on false pretenses. To say she was angry was putting it mildly. To get back at him, she doubled the quote and Sam  didn't care, he accepted.

They would be seeing each other daily, because Hales Luxury Autos, who built luxury cars for celebs had their garage on Sam’s property. It was a lucrative business that Sam had built from the ground up. He too was remembering the kiss and so was the entire town who had witnessed it at the party.  They were the hot topic in the small town of Crystal Bay. She knew she should refuse and go but how could she when she recalled the shared kiss that lit her up like the 4th of July? Plus the fact that Sam didn’t trust her and he believed she had used his brother to save her father’s company. All I could think of while reading this fun romance, was would Maureen Child’s sense of humor shine through? Yes, trust me you’ll erupt with laughter every so often while reading this amazing romance. I was just hoping they would repeat that explosive kiss and they did after returning from a motorcycle ride and then some, plus a trip to the bedroom. Wow is all I can say and then Anna fell head over heels in love.

Things became complicated for Sam because he still wasn’t sure he could trust Anna but that didn’t stop him from wanting her day and night. On top of that he wondered what his brother would say and if he would loose him because he was seeing Anna. To complicate things further, Anna’s father paid him a visit due to the town gossip. He wanted to make sure Sam understood he would not use his daughter as a bargaining chip to save his business. And then the day of the mural revealing came upon them and Anna hoped that every day when he looked at his office mural he would think of her. But she knew she had to end her relationship with Sam because he didn’t trust her and it was killing her because she loved him. So when she questioned him and he didn’t answer, they quarreled and she left.

What a Christmas for them both; they were miserable without each other and Anna was extremely worried about her father. After discussions with his brother and telling him everything and several unanswered calls to Anna, Sam made a decision. A most incredible decision that had me bawling because it was so sweet and tender. He finally realized that Anna had integrity and had his heart! The lengths he went to regain her love was amazing, giving them that their holiday magic and happy ending.

"MISTLETOE MAGIC" BY SANDRA HYATT

Author Sandra Hyatt was a new author for me to read and her Mistletoe Magic was just that, magical! It also made me think to what lengths one would to go if they possibly thought they might not live? Marriage to a woman he barely knew to protect his estate so that his half-brother couldn’t get his hands on it? That’s exactly what to Luke Maitland and Meg Elliott did, got married under unusual circumstances.

After a failed relationship, Meg Elliott had gotten to know Luke’s mother at a fundraiser luncheon and she really respected the woman. She decided to go to work for the Maitland foundation in Indonesia and that’s where she met Luke Maitland who was seriously injured. She was sweet, gentle and he couldn’t keep from thinking about her even though he was in pain. When the thought came up in his mind that what if he should die, he put a crazy plan into motion and asked Meg to marry him. Because his brother had tried to blackmail his mother while she was alive, he didn’t want his brother to inherit his estate. And now months later he returned home to Lake Tahoe without any warning and kissed her under the mistletoe.

Meg wasn’t quite sure what to do because now that Luke was home she needed to leave. However, her car was in the shop so she agreed to stay a few days. Luke didn’t do Christmas and here not only was his home decorated, his friends had become her friends and she had planned a huge fundraiser dinner. It was complicated and uncomfortable and play acting that they were actually married at times was stressful. However, he thought about her voice, her gentle touch while she had nursed him months earlier and remembered their wedding kiss. She shared with him the things she had said and done to his friends concerning their marriage and now that would have to end. And then without warning they were touching and kissing until they were interrupted by the caterers arriving for the fundraiser dinner party.

The touching and looks continued through out the dinner party and then the inevitable, they made love in his study. Walks, making love, talking over their shared past and both knowing that in a few days, they would seek a divorce and Meg would walk away. Meg knew she was in trouble and her heart was going to be broken. Being with Luke was wonderful and she would take what she could get. Things were happening way to fast, their time coming to an end plus for Luke, how was he going to deal with his brother? And then the weather had other ideas, it snowed, so they spent their time watching movies and acting like a married couple. However, Meg felt she should leave but I could tell Luke wasn’t ready to let her go because he told her she eased something in him. Could that mean he was also falling for her?

The ending was magical for both Meg and Luke because Meg made a bold decision while Luke was privately meeting with his friend and attorney. She acted on her decision, only to find out in the end that Luke had actually fallen in love with her, giving them both holiday magic.

CINDERELLA & THE CEO (Kings of California) – Maureen Child

Author: Maureen Child
Line: Silhouette Desire
Release month: UK/USA: October 2010
The S-Factor: Sizzling

Back Blurb:

Scrooge had moved in next door and Ivy Holloway was at his mercy. Billionaire Tanner King wanted her year-round Christmas-tree farm shut down so he could have his peace and quiet. He had enough money and power to do it, too. Leaving Ivy with only one option—tame the savage beast.

Tanner had found little tranquility thanks to his annoying neighbor. And then he found himself saddled with a gorgeous housekeeper he couldn't keep his mind—or hands—off. Trouble was, these two women were the same person…leaving the CEO wondering if he could really love his enemy.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

The Kings of California miniseries has been a delight to read and Cinderella and The CEO by the very clever Maureen Child is no exception. The author’s hero, Tanner King is Scrooge and the Grinch all rolled into one! However, beware because the girl next door and her family run the Angel Christmas Tree Farm and Tanner is about to meet his match!

Tanner King was a loner. So much so he built his million dollar home in the small town of Cabot Valley for peace and quiet and a place where he could work in private. He was very close to his cousins and attorney but as far as he was concerned he needed no one, he learned that lesson at an early age from his parents. However, he had two problems, he needed to get his next game ready for production and he needed to concentrate. However, that wasn’t possible because the tree farm next door was open year round, played Christmas songs loudly all day long. If that wasn’t enough, they had a gift shop, an adopt the tree program and catered to children’s birthday parties and weddings and it was a noisy mess. So much so, Tanner had called the sheriff many times and wanted them stopped!

Angel Tree Christmas farm had been the family business for decades and now they were nervous that their new billionaire next door neighbor could shut them down. The tree farm employed the town’s residents plus the fact that some of the items sold in the gift shop were created by the residents of Cabot’s Valley. People came from all over for their weddings and Ivy Holloway was hoping to put her wedding and events business on the map and therefore expanding her business. Now Ivy was concerned the very powerful Tanner King could shut her family business down not only hurting her but the entire town!

With the help of Tanner’s attorney and friend, Ivy was hired as Tanner’s housekeeper with both of them hoping to soften Tanner with the main goal being for him to learn about Angel Christmas Tree farm and meet some of the residents of residents. Tanner doesn’t need a pretty housekeeper but the very persuasive Ivy cooks, cleans and makes him feel things he doesn’t want to feel and while reading this wonderful romance I kept holding my breath because secrets always have a way of surfacing and when they did, it was explosive.

Ivy and Tanner had magnificent chemistry. Ivy had started this whole charade to save her tree farm and her hometown. However, then it grew into something more. She wanted to help Tanner King, she wanted him to get to know the town’s residents, to have him see what warm and wonderful people they were, wanted to “save” him. Ivy knew he had trust issues because of his family and how would he react when he found out she had lied to him?

When the secret was revealed that Ivy was actually the owner of Angel Christmas Farm I knew it was going to be explosive but what I didn’t expect was how painful it was to read how Tanner felt the betrayal nor how Ivy would feel the loss of the man she loved. All I could think about was if the wall he had erected around his heart would come tumbling down and if he, because of Ivy and the town, would get his happy ending.

Even though Cinderella and The CEO are not “billed” as a Christmas romance, it should be because it was truly a “Christmas miracle” and beautifully written by Desire author, Maureen Child.

CLAIMING HER BILLION-DOLLAR BIRTHRIGHT (The Jarrods) – Maureen Child

Author: Maureen Child
Line: Silhouette Desire
Release month: UK/North America: July 2010
The S-Factor:
Sizzling

Back Blurb:

The revelation turned Erica Prentice's world upside down—by birth, she belonged to a wealthy Colorado dynasty and her real father had left her a fortune. And the Jarrod family attorney, Christian Hanford, was there to show her the ropes. As Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome escorted her around Aspen, Erica was in for a second shock—her fiery attraction to the strictly off-limits attorney. Fraternizing with the Jarrod heiress could get Christian fired.

Which would she choose: duty to her family dynasty…or desire for a dynamic bachelor?

Review:
♥♥♥♥♥

Another marvelous book by the very talented Desire author Maureen Child. This is book one in The Jarrod series. “A powerful family divided by secrets, reunited to forge a dazzling future.” This is Erica Prentice’s story, the illegitimate child of Don Jarrod who had recently passed away.

Erica’s life had been turned upside town when a sexy, handsome lawyer from Colorado turned up and told her the father she’d known her entire life was NOT her father and that she had a sister and brothers. She was also told she had inherited a sixth of the Jarrod estate because Don Jarrod had actually been her real father. Part of her inheritance meant she must return to Colorado and help her brothers and sister run the Jarrod resort.

For Christian Handford the Jarrod attorney, there was immediate attraction when he set his eyes on Erica Prentice. However, he also knew his job would be in jeopardy if he acted on those feelings. He also realized another thing, that he had never been so attracted to a woman before in his life. This beautiful woman who he could sense was very strong, especially the way she took the news, she didn’t cry and told him she would go not for the money but for her, to find out who she was since her whole life had been a lie.

Confronting her father with her news was stressful for her but she needed to know the truth from the man she spent most of her life loving only to not have the love returned. He definitely would not allow her to work in the family business, only her two brothers. He made the revelation that Don Jarrod was her birth father, more about him than her. Erica realized when she learned the truth that her father had wanted to prevent a scandal not protect her. However, in the end she was wrong, he actually loved his daughter, he just had trouble showing the emotion.

Christian made arrangements for Erica to fly out to Aspen so she could acquaint herself with Jarrod Resorts and meet her siblings. Immediately, there was a connection with her sister but a few of her brother’s were a challenge. Her new position was to be working with her brother who was the Marketing Director and she would do the PR for an upcoming Food and Wine event in Aspen. However, the attraction between Christian and Erica went to a new level and he found it more difficult to stay away from her. When it became unbearable they acted on their passion for each other. He still resisted because of the clause that had been put into place by Don about personal involvement with a Jarrod. However, Erica was determined that he know what he was missing and she was determined that they be together.

Claiming Her Billionaire Dollar Birthright was Book 1 in the Jarrod series and a marvelous one. It not only set the stage for the upcoming books in the series, it gave the reader lots to think about, gave a little insight and dynamics into this unusual family who all left town, only to be drawn back by their father from the grave. Desire author Maureen Child did a brilliant job tying together the Jarrod family and Emily Prentice a strong and determined young woman.

♥♥♥♥♥

The Kings of California has been an incredible series and The Last Lone Wolf is Jericho King’s story. To say the least, this cowboy is one sexy loner who is a retired ex-Marine. He’s come back to his beautiful mountain lodge and has started a camp for corporate executives, teaching them survival and team skills. An now when he least expects it, a beautiful woman arrives unannounced to take him up on a job offer he made a year ago. The determined and sassy Daisy Saxon is the sister of a solider he watched die, a young man he loved like a brother. The same man he made a promise to that he would look out for his sister, the sister who raised him.

Daisy is actually still grieving for the brother she lost but now she is also determined to take the job as cook at the King Lodge because Jericho King offered her help a year ago. It’s taken her some time to get through her grief and she’s realizes now that her brother and parents are gone, she sincerely wants a family. She feels since the Marines took her brother and he loved and respected Jericho, what better man to assist her with this task and getting her pregnant but what she doesn’t count on is how much she would come to love the country, the lodge and the man who was so determined not to get involved nor give away his heart.

Daisy sneaks under Jericho’s radar with her vibrant and sunny personality, her beauty and her determination to help him out at his camp. As much as he tried to resist her, she wormed her way in and finally they began a relationship even though Jericho knew it could never go anywhere. He was not like his brothers who now were married with kids, he had no place in his heart for a woman and vowed to never marry.

As the old saying goes, “never say never” and for both Daisy and Jericho everything backfired. Even going away for days into the mountains, he couldn’t get her out of his mind or system. His men loved her, the executives who came to his camp loved her and in the end, he knew he was in trouble. Would the secrets they were holding back ruin a future for them? As only Maureen Child can pen, this romance was explosive, sensual and a genuine and entertaining addition to The King’s of California.
