Author: Kate Hardy

Line: Medical

Release month: April 2007

The S-Factor: Simmering

Back-Blurb:

A mother for his daughter

Ever since Joel Mortimer lost his wife, he’s thrown himself into his work and been a dedicated single father to his daughter Beth. Joel wrongly blames himself for the loss of Beth’s mother and their unborn child. He has vowed never to have more children, or put his little girl through any more trauma – until he meets his new colleague, SHO Lisa Richardson.

Lisa isn’t looking for commitment either, but she can’t resist Joel. One night they give in to temptation. Then Lisa discovers she’s pregnant…

Review:

I loved this story. It is packed with plenty of emotion, romance and excitement from the first paragraph. The moment Joel entered the scene I was hooked. He is one sexy and gorgeous hero, with major internal conflicts to deal with. This guy has suffered major trauma, and the pain continues to live on inside him. Sharing his pain was heartbreaking.

Kate Hardy has created a cast of wonderful characters, and little Beth, Joel’s daughter would melt the coldest of hearts. There is plenty of excitement created by the medical scenarios, and the love and heartfelt emotion between Lisa and Joel is palpable. Mills & Boon promise ‘…Pulse-racing romance – heart-racing medical drama’, and this book delivers all this and more!

Line: Modern/Sexy/Presents

Release month: UK - Apr 07/ Aus May 07/ USA - Jul 07

The S-Factor: Sizzling!

Back-Blurb:

Kidnapped by rebels, Belle Winters discovers her rescuer is actually Rafiq al Akhtar, Sovereign Prince of the desert kingdom of Q’aroum. Whisked away to his exotic palace, she is astounded to learn that Rafiq himself paid the ransom to save her life – and that he expects her to show her gratitude…by marrying him!
Rafiq intends for Belle to carry out her royal duties – both in public and in private. And it isn’t long before she succumbs to the sultry heat of the desert and to Rafiq’s seduction. No longer his unwilling wife, Belle has become the Sheikh’s very willing lover…
Review:

From the very beginning, I was captivated, intrigued and on edge as this story begins with a kidnapping, a ferocious storm and two very captivating characters Rafiq (ruler and monarch) and Belle, a marine archaeologist who along with her co-worker was kidnapped and held for ransom. Immediately the stage is set as Belle and Rafiq are thrown together, he her protector and Belle with everything she’s been through, her strength and courage shows throughout in this desert tale.

Belle’s homeland was Australia; she and her sister were for the most part, raised by her mother. Belle is strong, beautiful, hard working and proud. She has come to Q’aroum to explore and excavate a sunken first century trading ship. She and her co-worker are kidnapped by Rafiq’s cousin and the ransom demanded is the “Peacock’s Eye” not only very valuable but of importance to the people of Q’aroim. For generations it has been the gift of the Sheikh to his bride and Rafiq has given it up in order to save Belle and her co-worker!

Rafiq, is like no other sheikh or monarch…….his character reminds me of something out of “The Arabian Nights”. He’s handsome, intelligent, fearsome and very proud and he wants Belle……he wants her for his bride! Sparks fly off of these two characters as they both fight their attraction to each other and along the way find their way into a romance you won’t forget. A tale of East and West, two such different cultures and people who find a bond, mutual respect and love!
This is Annie West’s first "sheikh" book and I personally feel was exceptional, full of intrigue, chemistry and a wonderful romance set on a desert isle.

Review:

Sold and Seduced is the third Mills and Boon Historical Romance by up and coming romance author Michelle Styles and it’s a wonderfully sensuous romantic tale featuring an intrepid heroine, a gorgeous hero and plenty of twists and turns to keep you entranced from beginning to end!

When senator’s daughter Lydia Veratia needed money to pay for her father’s medical bills and his medicines, she made the mistake of selling off a cargo of wine already earmarked for Fabius Aro, whom all of Rome has nicknamed the Sea Wolf – and now the Sea Wolf is knocking on her door demanding his wine.

With no cargo or money available, Lydia begs Aro not to take revenge upon her family or besmirch her father’s good name. But Aro soon comes up with a rightful punishment for Lydia – she will be his wife!

With no other option open to her, Lydia accedes to his request thinking that theirs will be a marriage in name only. But Aro has got other plans and has already begun to plot his wife’s seduction.

Will Lydia be impervious to the Sea Wolf’s charms? Or will she succumb to his sensual kisses?

Michelle Styles brings to life Ancient Rome by deftly evoking the sights, the sounds, the scents and the language of the Romans in this page-turning historical romance which I just couldn’t put down.

The talented Ms. Styles blends passion, drama, suspense and adventure in this wonderful story which I just didn’t want to end.

Rescued: Mother-To-Be by Trish Wylie

Title: Rescued: Mother-To-Be

Author: Trish Wylie

Line: Romance

Release month : April 2007

The S-Factor: Simmering & Sweet

Back-Blurb:

Feeling her baby's first kick was supposed to be a joyous moment for Colleen McKenna. When life dealt her the hardest blow, Colleen knew that she would have to summon up all her courage to cope with her pregnancy alone.

Now gorgeous millionaire Eamonn's kindness is testing her fierce independence. And having Eamonn Murphy's hand on her bump, feeling each tiny kick with her, makes every moment more special than the last….
Review:

Trish Wylie, Irish author obviously has a love for her country and horses making this particular reader long to travel to Ireland. Throughout the entire story, I felt as if I were there with both of these wonderful characters who had grown up together on a stud farm, Inisfree. The way Ms. Wylie describes the setting and her two main characters Colleen and Eamonn, one cannot help be transported to the luscious emerald isle

However, more importantly, this book is about home and what it means or can mean to a person. Colleen never doubted her place in life or what she wanted to do…..she loved horses, Inisfree, and as a teenager loved Eamonn. Now she’s faced with a broken down stud farm, expecting a baby and alone.

Due to the passing of his father, Eamonn now owns half of Inisfree and must return to Ireland to face Colleen and his past. As a young man, he left Ireland, his heritage and made his way in the world. In America, he became very successful in the construction field. Now he is faced with a dilemma…..Inisfree, the lovely Colleen and her beautiful newborn daughter Evie. What he does not realize is that he will learn a very valuable lesson and that is what is important in life….family and home.

Rescued Mother-To-Be is intense, sensual and full of heart. I personally fell in love with Inisfree and Ireland. This is truly a love story with a happy ending!

From Trish Wylie's Website: “What in the name of everything resembling common sense is a single girl who has never had a baby doing writing a book based around a heavily pregnant heroine??? It has turned into a piece of work that I'm very happy to put my name to! Thanks to friends like Natasha Oakley, Donna Alward and my sister-in-law, who between them have eleven kids (!!!), I got all the information I needed (a tad too much at times frankly) to help me put my mind inside that of an eight months pregnant heroine. I wouldn't have had half a chance of writing it without their help!”
