Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
The Chateau Lefevre series is described as “Rich and spicy – these men are as irresistible as their wine”. Trust me, Xavier and Guy Lefevre are two fabulous Frenchmen. Kate Hardy didn’t disappoint me with her second book, Champagne with a Celebrity, it was brilliant.
To understand the dynamics between Guy Lefevre and his brother Xavier, I highly suggest you read Red Wine and Her Sexy Ex. However, Champagne with a Celebrity is a stand lone book and begins with the wedding of Xavier and his childhood sweetheart, Allie at their family chateau. Guy was loner, loved his rose garden and creating and making perfume. However he had a secret, one that could affect his business and the rest of his life. He had lost his sense of smell. Can you imagine what that would mean for a perfumer? Guy and his brother were close and so this wedding was important to him. However, he’d been there, done that to a famous super model who adored parties and being photographed by the paparazzi. He valued his privacy, was a workaholic and at a very young age had won awards for his creations and started his own successful perfume house. However, his business partner wanted to sell, he had a new creation to finish and launch and on top of that his medical secret!
The Chateau Lefevre was a lovely spot for a wedding and then Guy saw her and his heart stopped. At first he thought Amber Wynne was his ex-wife but then he learned she was a friend of his future sister-law. And then he caught her picking his beloved roses and they got off to a bad start. She was so much like his ex and that bother him. And then he learned she planned parties, appeared in celebrity magazines and was determined “never again” to be attracted to another woman like his ex. The pull between them was so strong and their chemistry sizzled. The irresistible pull between them became so strong when they danced that it led to them leaving the reception and going to Guy’s bedroom. Guy fought it, he really did but she charmed him and he invited Amber to use the chateau as a base while she was touring France.
Amber Wynne knew immediately that Guy Lefevre was special. From her friend and researching him on Google she was amazed at his success. However, there was something that drew her to him. She had been hurt by the press, by an ex-boyfriend plus that fact that in her world, everyone considered her a party girl. However, Guy made her feel special as if she mattered. She liked Guy’s wit, his quick mind and his smile. They spent comfortable days together at the Chateau, she cooking and reading him working. He even took her into his lab, something he rarely did which pleased her. And then without thinking, Guy invited her to accompany him to Grasse where he was to meet with his partner and perfume house. Their time spent together in his flat at Grasse was special as they really shared with each other. Then Amber realized she was in trouble and that she loved him, not due to their shared intimacy because it was something deeper.
Guy knew ending things would be best but he blurted out about his meeting and invited her to come along. He was sick he was keeping his loss of smell from her but could bring himself to tell her. However, he did share his past marriage with Amber and why he didn’t like the press. And he knew while discussing the media with her he had to hold them off because of they found out about his loss of smell, it would ruin the perfume house. Grasse changed a lot of things for Guy because he medical secret was exposed when there was a fire in the kitchen and Amber realized he couldn’t smell the fire. That’s not all that changed, she tried to help and everything backfired. All she wanted to do was fix his world and it blew up in her face!
The only way to describe Champagne with a Celebrity….. it was extremely romantic. Two people who had been hurt by past relationships and the press, who in only a few weeks fell in love. To share so much with each other and had to come to terms with a lot of issues and unfolding events, I wondered if they had a chance. Sometimes secrets have to be exposed, dealt with to get that happy ending. Because in the end, both Guy and Amber wanted to live their dream together. Thanks to clever and gifted Kate Hardy for this wonderful series for providing readers with the Lefevre brothers.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
What an incredible and beautiful love story set in France wine country by the very talented Kate Hardy. The Chateau Lefevre series is described as “Rich and spicy – these men are as irresistible as their wine”. Trust me, Xavier and Guy Lefevre and two fabulous Frenchmen.
Truly a romance about second chances Red Wine and Her Sexy Ex was actually about a vigneron, Xavier Lefevre who gave up a young woman he had fallen in love with because he was duty bound to his father and the vineyard employees. However, now Allegra Beauchamp was coming home to France and he feared that she was going to make trouble for him. When he really needed her years before, she had broken his heart and now she was returning to her Uncle’s home, a little too late as he had passed away. The very same wonderful man who had provided a home for her each summer and she never even returned for his funeral.
Xav wanted to buy her out but she wasn’t going to allow him to purchased her Uncle’s land, the Uncle who she so adored. Just seeing Xavier made her heart race, made her remember those years ago when then love was so sweet and pure, the very same young man who took her virginity. The man who broke her heart! Well let him think again, she was here to stay, to learn the wine business and make her contribution whether he liked it or not! What Allie didn’t count on was how much Xav still affected her and how much the more time they spent together, the more she remembered what they had shared.
So many secrets Xav kept from Allie, the reason he hadn’t gone to Paris or come to her in London, his mother’s affair, the vineyard problems, his father’s health and his parents divorce. However, Allie was also to blame. Only being eighteen, she was somewhat clingy and wanted him to come for her. Their time spent at the vineyard and chateau, her suggestions for marketing and sales, was wonderful to read. Kate Hardy obviously had been to France and provided great insight into the wine industry. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the different grapes and wines and the beautiful countryside. I felt I was actually there during harvest time.
Working alongside of Allie became torture for Xav as he could see himself falling in love with her like all of those years ago. And if things got tough would she walk away again and leave him? She had some great ideas for the vineyard and she was getting to him. So much so, Xav finally gave in and they made love. Allie knew she had never stopped loving this man but he thought it was just physical or so he kept telling himself. He had trust issues and wondered if she’d be just like his mother and bail out! They also went together to Paris to meet with a distributor, the city where Xav years ago was going to propose to her and I wondered it they would survive the trip and maybe get their second chance?
I so love a romance with a happy ending and yes, Xav and Allie get theirs but there were a few bumps in the road, enough to send her back to London and in the end, him chasing after her because she was more important to him than the vineyard, France; without her he would be lost because she not only loved him, she believed in him.
Note: You won’t want to miss Kate Hardy’s Champagne with a Celebrity. It’s about Xav’s brother Guy; another marvelous love story involving Xav’s and Allie’s wedding, perfume, food and a sexy event planner!

But by night...
Felix Gisbourne thinks Daisy's the hottest thing he's ever seen - in or out of overalls! And it's easy to mix business with pleasure! But Felix can't be sure... Does daisy want him in her bed, or his money in her bank account?
Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
Daisy Bell had spent ten years of her life building up the family fairground museum and becoming a mechanical engineer against her parents and boyfriend’s objections. And now someone has vandalized it. Past boyfriends and her parents didn't understand her passion for the museum and now with the mess it was in, she couldn't go to her family for help. However, her friend Annie put out a call out for help by posting an article in the newspaper about the vandalism.
Felix Gisbourne was a successful businessman and his speciality was to rescue businesses before they went under. When his PA showed him the article in the paper, he’s intrigued and decides to check it out. It’s a perfect opportunity for him to give his mother an excuse so he doesn't have to attend another of her parties where she’s always trying to fix him up and marry him off.
When Felix sees Daisy’s picture in the newspaper article, he was intrigued. And then when he personally met her, they were both overwhelmed. He invited her to a business dinner and found they had so many things in common, especially that they both liked to fix things, she engines and the rides and he businesses. The chemistry between them is magical.
Like the old saying goes opposites attract. The chemistry between them is magical and they can't seem to fight it any longer and they have a secret affair. Felix accepts Daisy for who she is, a woman with a passion for her work, a woman who absolutely is not girly, who doesn't wear dresses or make-up and she in turn adores him for the man he was as well. However, they both have painful secrets, especially Felix which holds them back. However, Daisy is sure she loves him and is hopeful he will love her back.
Just when one hopes there is happiness in-store for them, everything unravels, they quarrel and part. Time spent apart from Daisy is agony for Felix and then he sees a newspaper article that puts their argument into perspective and goes to her and tries to make it right. Good Girl or Gold Digger, was a warm, funny and very sweet romantic read. How the author tied everything together from the heroine’s name to the sweet happy ending was spectacular.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
Temporary Boss, Permanent Mistress by Kate Hardy is so full of passion it sizzles off the pages and has such delightful warmth.
Jake Andersen stepped into his CEO position when his father retired. However, he just didn’t assume the top position, he was the kind of man who worked in all departments, got to know the staff and made the office environment informal. He was beyond a hard working CEO; he was a man who had deprived himself of pleasure and relaxation. It was his way of not remembering what he had faced and the lost months and the secrets he was hiding. Now he was faced with an important business deal in Norway and needed one of his attorneys. However, both were unavailable so he needed to count on a junior staffer, Lydia Sheridan. While going over their game plan for the deal they were about to present, Jake realizes he’s very attracted to Lydia, but he’s her boss and then he formulates a plan which he feels would benefit them both, a week long affair.
There were only two people in Lydia Sheridan’s life she could count on…..her godmother and her best friend. And now she’s at a crossroad in her life. Since she was a child she has tried to please her parents, she’d given up her dream to become an artist and became a lawyer instead because it was expected of her by her parents. She’s always felt they never loved her and nothing she could ever do would please them. On top of everything else when asked by the CEO of Andersen Marine to accompany him on a business trip to Norway and take extra time off to see the sights, she’s not sure what to make of the offer. She finds him to be the most handsome man she’s ever met and when the attraction becomes too much and he offers her a week of passion and an adventure which will end when they return to London; she can’t refuse.
Their lives were so different from each other……Jake’s from a supportive and loving family, parents, grandparents, cousins who adored him and worried about him. Lydia just the opposite, had parents who never attended the special events in her life, never showed any emotion, were controlling and made her feel so unloved. Now on this business trip her boss, her very sexy boss has offered her time to explore her feelings, have an affair full of passion, talk things out, be a sounding board for each other and in the end, they can both walk away and he’ll accept her resignation because she’s explained she wants to chase her dream of becoming an artist.
After the business was finished their time and the beginning of their affair was magical. It wasn’t just the magic of the country itself, it was their time spent talking, loving, sharing and it was Jake’s realizing the hurtful childhood Lydia had experienced and trying in his small way to make their time together special. And Lydia realizing how beautiful and special Jake was and embracing his secret and through her art and sketching him and healing him without him even realizing it.
For me personally, Temporary Boss, Permanent Mistress made me take stock of my life and my career choices. I wish years ago I had read this very powerful love story which makes one realize they can follow their dream. Why one might ask? Because we all make choices based on family and others and sometimes not for our own personal needs. Lydia lived her life for her parents and gave up so much and finally she had the courage to leave a respected profession as a lawyer and take a chance on being an artist and loosing what was left of her relationship with her parents. It makes one question their own personal choices in love and career and what’s important.
And then there was Jake, the brilliant, handsome man who was loved by family and friends, unlike Lydia. The very same man who couldn’t get past what had been dealt to him in life, the cancer. Even though part of their affair was to be honest, talk things out, share and in the end walk away and be better people because of their week together, he failed them both and realized it too little too late.
Its obvious Jake and Lydia were meant to be together but it took some time for Jake the man who had respect from his peers and the love of family to realize how much she meant to him. Author Kate Hardy’s talent shines through as she provides her readers with a magnificent ending and a few surprises in the final chapters of Temporary Boss, Permanent Mistress.

Behind the Book as Quoted by Author:
"I've always, always wanted to see the Northern Lights. The next best thing to doing something is writing about it... so I had the fun of persuading my editor that the frozen north is verrry sexy. Yes, I know Presents/Modern Heat readers love Mediterranean men - but this would be different. Glamorous and sexy, but different.
Then I told her my hero was a reindeer farmer. We were drinking champagne at the time, so she thought I was teasing. When she realised I was totally serious, negotiating started in earnest. NO REINDEER. So we compromised. He'd be a shipping magnate, but I'd get my Northern fantasy. Complete with ice hotel (James Bond).
But I was writing the book just before Christmas, and there were reindeer in the city centre. I had to go and see them. And then they ended up in the book. (I hid them where she couldn't take them out.) And then, at revision stage, I sneaked in four more. The way I see it, if you're getting married in the arctic, how else are you going to get to the church? (I was also writing this book when we had a major cold snap, so to research exactly what it felt like inside an ice hotel, all I had to do was step outside my front door, because it was the same temperature. Minus four Celsius.)
So. We have Jakob the shipping magnate, who's hiding a deep dark secret; and Lydia, his lawyer, who's tried too hard to please everyone else and is about to rebel spectacularly. (Ohhh. Light bulb. I've just realised: this is my rebel book - except it's the heroine rather than the hero who's the rebel. Of sorts.) Can they overcome their pasts and risk a future together?
I loved writing this. I drove the entire family bananas - we were eating Norwegian food (sadly, I was the only one who liked gjetost, so I had to eat it all myself) and I was trying to talk them into taking our summer holiday in Norway, except in February rather than summer as it's the best month to see the Northern Lights. But then my husband discovered what the temperature in Norway is, during February... so I'm still negotiating that one.
I also had a great conversation with my fellow Modern Heat authors about vodka - I prefer wine to spirits, so I had to talk to some people who do actually like the stuff, in order to find out what my heroine would be drinking in the ice hotel and exactly what it tastes like. Kimberly Lang came up with the goods for me: vanilla vodka. Cheers, Kim! And thanks also to Heidi Rice for sharing Finland with me and reminding me about the different sorts of snow.
As Lydia is an artist, some of this book is quite visual, so I'd recommend looking up Edvard Munch's Madonna.
It's dedicated to my friend and fellow Mills and Boon author, Nicola Cornick, who let me grill her about her own adventures in Spitzberg and answered all the weird questions that authors come up with when they get the chance to grill someone." Kate Hardy

THE CHILDREN'S DOCTOR'S SPECIAL PROPOSAL - Kate Hardy

New consultant paediatrician Rhys Morgan is everything the hospital grapevine promised: piercing blue eyes, perfect physique and a mysteriously guarded manner. He is also Katrina’s boss, but children’s doctor Katrina thinks she’s safe from Rhys’s charms. Until they discover a shared commitment to their little patients – and a heartfelt passion for each other.
Rhys has never believed in happy families, yet Katrina opens his eyes to what love and family really mean. Her courage and vulnerability create a fierce desire to protect her. Enough, perhaps, to make Rhys risk his heart with the most special proposal of all …
Review: ♥♥♥♥
This is the second book in ‘The London Victoria’ duo and follows on from The Greek Doctor’s New Year Baby (released in the UK – January 2009).
Rhys is a naturally guarded and private person but when he starts to work with Katrina he is charmed by her warm, sunny personality. They work together on a children’s ward and although Rhys is very good with the patients and their parents, Katrina is the one they seek when in need of comfort or further explanations. She has a natural gift with children and it is obvious to Rhys she doesn’t just see her job as work – it is who she is.
Katrina is instantly attracted to Rhys but is wary of relationships, particularly with a colleague, as a previous boyfriend left her feeling damaged due to his inability to accept her hearing difficulties. Rhys gradually persuades her that he doesn’t see this as a problem and slowly restores her confidence in herself. All that stands between them is Rhys’s past and a secret he cannot bear to tell her.
Kate Hardy has handled Katrina’s hearing difficulty sensitively, positively and with great feeling, this issue adding to the story rather than detracting from it. The medical facts are pertinent and to the point without bogging down the romance between Rhys and Katrina. A truly heartwarming story about learning to trust again and triumph over adversity.

But Leandro finds it difficult to keep his emotions separate—especially when Becky announces she's expecting! Suddenly the hot-blooded Spanish doctor is demanding Becky become his wife!
Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
Becky Marston has come to realize three important things which resulted from past experiences. First and foremost, she is going to concentrate of her career and put her family and the idea any romantic relationship on the back burner. Why one might ask? Becky learned from a past marriage that her husband and family expected her to stay at home, take care of her husband and to have children, never mind what she wanted career wise. She also learned that her husband was not who she thought he was; he cheated during their marriage and left her to marry another who was also expecting his child. Becky also spent painful years growing up with parents who constantly argued and was always aware that they only reason they married was to give her legitimacy. Her parents and grandparents always made it clear that she never measured up to their standards. So now becoming a nurse consultant is her only goal.
Leandro Herrera has left Spain and come to England for a year for two reasons, a new position at the local hospital and to find his birth father. Months before, his mother, who single-handily raised him with care and love, became seriously ill and revealed the name of his father. What he doesn’t count on is meeting the lovely Becky at a party hosted by one of the men at the hospital. One thing leads to another and they enter into a night of passion. Leandro is baffled by his need to see her again; for Becky she fights the attraction and how he makes her feel. They agree to have a “no strings affair” but in the end, it’s more than either of them counts on and Becky finds herself pregnant. Becky’s past experience with her disastrous marriage and loosing a baby at the end of her marriage have left her determined to have the baby alone. However, the sexy and proud Spaniard has other ideas, they must marry and two parents are better than one.
Their journey is a sweet and lovely story. Not just the passion but their respect and caring for each other and how throughout the months getting to know each changes everything. Leandro is determined that Becky will become his wife and she has other ideas. It’s a beautiful story about second chances, not just for Becky and Leandro but for their families as well.

“I love A&E books. It's the adrenaline charge, I think, the sheer drama of the setting. And I'd had this Catalan consultant walking into my head (partly from watching Antonio Banderas in 'Take The Lead' - I know, I know, he's not a medic or anything even slightly near it, but...) so Leandro got to tell his story. He'd grown up in a single-parent family, and now he has the chance to find out the truth about his past.” KH

This is the first Kate Hardy book I’ve ever read and I’m so glad I did! It’s a little like Prince Charming meets Sleeping Beauty. Gio is one handsome, sexy and talented Italian. He believes in commitment and family and is a man who made sacrifices for that family. At one time he dreamed of being a musician. However when his father became ill, he rose to the cause and took over the family coffee business giving up his dream.

Everyone thinks he's a gorgeous bachelor - really, he's a husband in the making!
Review:
This story begins with the drama of an external conflict on an airborne flight. It's through this medical emergency that Ellie and Orlando meet for the first time in their professional capacitie
Kate Hardy swiftly emerges the reader into the lives of both the hero and heroine in this powerful and emotional story. Her story telling skills will have you on the edge of your seat as the subsequent personal and medical dramas of Ellie and Orlando unfold.
This is another well researched book that serves to be informative without being overpowering - both within the story's historical setting of Pompeii and the medical scenarios that arise. Kate Hardy creates an evocative sense of empathy with all the issues she addresses in this, another fab read from one of Harlequin Mills & Boon's most prolific authors.

Review:
This is Kate Hardy's 25th publication for Mills & Boon and Kate couldn't have celebrated better than with sexy Giovanni - he is HOT!
Francesca is a warm, loveable heroine, and just what Giovanni needs. His large Italian family fall in love with Fran from the moment they meet her, and Fran reciprocates the feelings.
Kate Hardy delivers everything her faithful readers have come to expect - a well researched story, a very sexy hero who is deserving of the lovely heroine, and secondary characters who don't take over the story yet are integral to the plot.
This is a gorgeous story that touches the reader on all levels - it's humorous, romantic, and emotional. A delicious read on all counts.

Review:
I loved this story. It is packed with plenty of emotion, romance and excitement from the first paragraph. The moment Joel entered the scene I was hooked. He is one sexy and gorgeous hero, with major internal conflicts to deal with. This guy has suffered major trauma, and the pain continues to live on inside him. Sharing his pain was heartbreaking.
