Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

Shocking royal secrets and passion like no other, that’s what Annie West brings to her readers in Passion, Purity and the Prince.

Tamsin had been hurt by one man who used her to get a promotion and then he dumped her cruelly. When she was offered a job a to work with the royal archives in Ruvingia she accepted because there no one would know how badly she’d been hurt. She loved her job, was good at it, so good that she discovered it the man who soon was to be crowned king was actually second in line. The man to be King was his cousin, Prince Alaric.

Prince Alaric was not only handsome, he was also very tortured by his past, especially the death of his brother. He blamed himself for his death. He also believed love made one weak, that should he marry, it would be because of duty. However, with the possibility his cousin Raul would not be crowned king and if the word got out before the palace archives could be verified, he would need to keep Tamsin near, so he asks her to become his companion, takes her her to the royal hunting lodge in a horse drawn sleigh and then takes her to his bed.

Tamsin hid her beauty by wearing glasses and drab clothing. However, after getting to know her, Alaric saw her inter beauty and inner strength. He had kissed many women, women who were interested in his wealth and royal status. However, when he kissed Tamsin, he actually felt something and that unsettled him. Even though he knew Tamsin had been in love before with a former colleague, he hadn’t counted on her being a virgin. At times while reading their love story I felt sad for Tamsin because her childhood had been filled with loneliness, very few friends because she was a “brain”. Alaric was using her as a decoy and he made her feel things, things she had never felt before.

This handsome Prince had two serious problems. A past which gave him nightmares and a woman who cracked the wall he put up around himself. Who was he kidding, using her as a decoy to keep her from spilling the possibility that he should be the one to be crowned king? You’ll not want to miss their time spent at the hunting lodge because everything changed in their relationship. Tamsin actually lovely, needed, passionate and desired by this man who said he could never love. I held my breath because I could so see her being hurt. Because being with this prince gave her peace she had never felt before.

Passion, Purity and the Prince had an explosive and brilliant ending and the sweet Tamsin did, in the end, get her Prince Charming. The epilogue was also most enjoyable.

Review
♥♥♥♥♥

Annie West has successfully succeeded in creating one of the most charming yet tortured sheikh in Scandal: His Majesty’s Love-Child. It was essential that the final book tied everything together and Harlequin/Mills and Boon couldn’t have picked a more accomplished author than Ms. West to complete the task!

The Dark Hearted Desert Men was a spin-off from the Royal House of Karedes series. Of these four devastating sheikhs who would be king and would they find love? However, let’s not forget the authors who had a hand in writing this sexy series……Carol Marinelli, Jennie Lucas, Trish Morey and Annie West…..bravo!

Tahir Al’Ramirz was larger than life…..at a very young age he was exiled from his country by his father, a cruel and abusive man, more than abusive one will learn while reading this particular book. His father not only brutally beat him he also sent his thugs to also do the job. He also betrayed his wife with a string of mistresses. Tahir had never been able to please his father no matter how hard he tried. He was a loner and self-contained. He was dark, handsome, sexy, rich and had a different woman on his arm weekly. He had long ago given up caring what his family was up to until he received a call from his oldest brother that he was needed at home. It was on this journey over the desert, flying a helicopter in a dust storm that his plane went down.

Annalisa was keeping a promise to her father. She had promised to go into the desert and take his telescope to view a comet he named after her mother. She would make sure that the comet got the recognition it deserved! Yearly, she and her father had spent time camping in the the desert when she was not working as his medical assistant as he was the village doctor. Now she really had no one with the exception of a few aunts and cousins. So out to the desert she went and was to return home in a few days with a camel caravan. Then the most amazing thing happened while bathing in the oasis, the most incredible man appeared on the horizon wearing a tuxedo, staggering down the dunes. He was bleeding, had a bump on his head and he was the most handsome man and had the most incredible blue eyes. It was obvious to Annalisa that he was in need of medical assistance.

For them both their time spent in the desert was emotional; Annalisa missed her father but was looking forward to when she returned home she could travel, see the world and then go to university. Tahir’s wounds needed to be healed but he also needed to come to terms with his past and his nightmares and his feelings for this sweet young woman who had become his caretaker. As Tahir’s wounds healed, temptation was off the charts for them both. They actually liked and respected each other but the attraction was like a magnet for them both and then out in the desert camp, under the stars they made love many times and Annalisa lost her heart and virginity and Tahir for the first time in his life really enjoyed himself, he felt at peace. However, he knew the caravan that would take them home was soon to come and he needed to make a clean break, not to give her any hope and so he was curt, dismissive but made sure she knew that if she’d become pregnant, she needed to contact him.

Annalisa returned home and Tahir was hospitalized and then he was told he was to be King as he brother Rafiq didn’t want the throne. A shock yes, but a greater shock Annalisa had to face when she found out she’s was pregnant. She wandered the streets after receiving the news and fate steps in again when she accidentally meetsTahir’s mother the Sheikha who invited her to be a guest and stay at the palace.

Tahir was a fierce leader and stepped into his responsibilities as if he was born to lead. Annalisa’s stay at the Palace made him aware that’s she was more than a pretty face, she was different from and not the typical Qusay woman based on her European heritage and her involvement in her father’s profession. Talk about tension in the palace both sexual and emotional for them both. They complimented each other in so many ways and while reading this final story I could see hope for their relationship even though it took this tortured alpha some time to see reason.

Scandal: His Majesty’s Love-Child was a roller coaster romance with extreme tension leading the heroine from innocence to mature awareness and the hero from feeling tortured to feeling content. Annie West more than deserves high praise for writing such a beautiful contemporary and ending the series on such a high!

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

Forgotten Mistress, Secret Love-Child was one powerful and emotional romance that shimmered with a sensuality that will melt your heart.

It was author Annie West’s first reunion love story which began with a twist when the handsome Alessandro Mattani who was suffering from a form of amnesia recognized a woman in a Melbourne hotel brochure. He’s certain he’s known her sometime in his past and that they were lovers. Sandro has learned from a very early age to guard his heart, neither to trust nor love. He’s a hardworking and ruthless millionaire and he’s determined to get to the bottom of how he knows this woman and why he’s certain she walked out on him. So he leaves Italy and goes to Melbourne hoping that by seeing her it will help him to remember the missing pieces of his life.

Carys Wells is one strong, lovely and caring mother and she’s determined to make a good life her for son no matter the personal cost. Even though she has asked her family for their support, they ignore her as they have for most of her life. She was different from them all and not accomplished like her siblings due to being dyslexic. Now she’s working in a limited position at an upscale Melbourne hotel and is shocked when she’s approached by her ex-lover and the father of her baby. The sexy and very same man who sent her away and broke her heart. She’s also shocked when she learns he doesn’t remember their time together. And then to make matters worse, when he learns he has a son and demands marriage her emotions are all over the place.

From the very beginning I knew in my heart this couple deserved a happy ending because of everything they had been through and everything they eventually overcame. Sandro’s mother left him at an early age and he had to toughen up and keep his emotions in check. As for Carys, not only the rejection from her family when her entire life she just wanted to be accepted for who she was; also Alessandro’s rejection and accusations before he cast her out of his life.

The emotions in this book are up and down for this couple and the sensual tension between the two leaps off of the pages. And then the realization that Sandro might not ever remember how he once felt about her, how compatible they were, how much fun they had was heart breaking. On top of everything else a conniving step mother, misconceptions about an old family friend, a wicked cousin, just added to the strength of Carys love for Sandro.

This engaging romance was exactly what I expected from author Annie West; one with a twist, secrets, passion which leapt off the pages and powerful emotions. Its one love story I won’t soon forget because even though they for the most part had to start over, it was in the end the realization they loved each other more than life that was undeniable.

Yet when Callie's avaricious uncle loses the Manolis money, she is at Damon's mercy and is forced to become the Savakis mistress

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

Author Annie West continues to amaze me with her spectacular contemporary romances. The Savakis Mistress is no exception as the passion between Damon Savakis and Callie Manolis sizzles and literally leaps off of the pages from the very beginning of the book and continues throughout the entire story. Once you begin, you’re hooked and won’t want to stop reading this very intense and splendid romantic tale.

My heart went out to the heroine Callie as the only love and joy she’s ever known was taken away from her at a young age when her parents died. She was forced to live with her horrible and manipulative uncle who for his own means, arranged for her to marry a much older man, every bit as cruel and devious as her uncle. Now she’s free of her marriage as her husband died. Her only hope for happiness is her inheritance. However now that’s gone as well thanks to her uncle. All of her dreams of starting her own business are down the drain. On top of everything else she’s trying to save her cousin from another yet arranged marriage her uncle is planning for his meek daughter to get him out of debt.

Callie had felt alone for so long. She had been spending time on the beach watching a very handsome man on his yacht for days so when he came ashore and spoke with her it became madness between them. For in a cove these two strangers made love not knowing each others names. Never in her life had she ever done something so impulsive nor felt the power and passion this stranger gave her. Then everything comes crashing down as she returns to her uncles villa only to meet the man her uncle wants her cousin to marry, the very man Damon Savakis with who only an hour ago she was in his arms.

When Damon shows up as a guest at the Manoli villa, it’s like reading a diaster. Damon wants revenge on the family for what they caused years ago when his family lost their father. Things only go from bad to worse when he sees that the woman he made love to only an hour ago is Callie. Then her evil uncle suggests Damon take his meek daughter for his wife. Callie jumps in to save her cousin and things get out of control when Damon suggests they share a night of passion in return for a generous settlement to her uncle. However, things don’t go well and she flees while her uncle witnesses her fleeing Damon’s room. He uses it to his advantage to blackmail Damon into marriage with Callie. However, Damon has other ideas; yes he takes her but only as his mistress.

What a mess for Callie, again a man is going to use her, one with a sharp tongue yet he makes her heart melt, makes her feel things. And for Damon, he can’t get enough of her or get her out of his system but he’ll get his revenge for them blackmailing him and hurting his family. He stripped away the walls she put up and her long buried emotions. He had the power to devastate her and she realized she had to lock her feelings away. Callie realized one other thing, that he would never love her and for her to survive she must leave, tries to find herself and start up the business she’s always dreamed of.

Damon wants her like no other woman he’s ever known. She acts like an inexperienced virgin and he doesn’t trust her. Will she go to no length at deception? But he can’t stop from wanting her. Then as they spend time together, he realizes he doesn’t want to let her go. He sees her talent and like his family he takes responsibility for her and tries to fix everything.

However, Callie feels betrayed and leaves because she needs to make her own way. Is there any hope for them? There is so much depth to this story I can’t even begin to explain it. It’s overwhelming and at times the conflict is painful to read. You can actually feel their passion, and their caring for each other especially when all of the secrets of their pasts are revealed to each other. Annie West with The Savakis Mistress gives her readers such insight into her characters they actually become a part of you. It’s an emotional roller coaster and a real tug-of-war from the anger, to revenge, to passion so intense. It’s a beautifully crafted romance with an emotional and teary ending.

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

A captivating, powerful and sensual read as written by contemporary romance author Annie West. Blackmail, revenge, passion, and secrets from the past, all rolled into one in this entertaining romance Blackmailed Bride, Innocent Wife.

I so admired both Alissa Scott and Dario Parisi for their passion and reasons for wanting the castello which Alissa would inherit if she married. However, Alissa had secrets for why she wanted it because all of her life she and her sister had suffered under the abusive hands of their grandfather. Now Alissa’s sister needed medical attention and they couldn’t afford it so she was forced to find a bridegroom, marry and in the end divorce to received the money her evil grandfather had stipulated in his will. Her friend agrees to a marriage and in the end backs out as one will learn Dario paid him off and now he is determined to marry Alissa and reclaim the castello the “old man” took from his family.

Dario Parisi is one incredible alpha Italian with pride, passion and determination to make restitution from deeds of the past. Not only the promise he made to his father but to revenge the family who took everything away which he holds Alissa’s grandfather responsible. What neither Dario nor Alissa count on is the lust and passion they shared. For him, something about her was different and beyond his experience.

While their story was lovely to read, I wept for Dario and his struggle. I adored Alissa for her determination to save her sister and for her strength to walk away from the love of her life when she believed the crumbling castello meant more to Dario than the passion and joy they both shared. Blackmailed Bride, Innocent Wife is a passionate and sensual journey one won’t want to miss!

Behind the book from the author’s website:

This story developed because of some non-fiction writing. I was preparing an article about using the senses in stories, (see 'The Power of Scent' on my website) and giving examples. As a romance writer an obvious choice of scene was the wedding ceremony. I used examples of how the various scents we associate with a wedding might impact on the bride, depending on whether she was delighted, anxious or even horrified to be walking down the aisle.

And then that tingling sensation began as I latched on to the notion of a bride, all in white, walking to the altar, sick with dread at the very thought of marriage. What an idea for a story opening! After that I let my imagination really let go and came up with the idea of her marrying not the man she’d intended but a complete stranger as all her plans go awry and a dangerous man with a take charge attitude turns the situation to his own ends. Now that was real fun! I was hooked and all I had to do was work out who she was, why she was getting married despite her own inclinations, who the groom was, why he’d hijacked the wedding and how they could legally marry. Easy!

However, Arik also knows that once she's at his command Rosalie will open up to receive the loving that only he can give her...
Review:

Annie West has yet again written another powerful love story. This is Annie’s second sheikh book and is set on a beautiful desert coast.

In the Sheikh’s Ransomed Bride (Annie’s first sheikh book) the reader learns that she has a sister Belle who is now the reigning queen of Q’roum and this book focuses on her sister, Rosalie Winter’s visit, along with her niece and mother. Rosalie one learns has come to Q’roum to celebrate her nephew’s birthday. Rosalie has a past, one she cannot escape and while on this visit her family offers to watch her daughter so she can relax and try her hand in a talent lost to her……drawing and painting.

Each day, Rosalie goes to the beach to swim and draw and while there reflects on her past of why she can no longer paint. For years, she has been haunted by an event which happened in college where her drink was “doctored” and she was raped and the incident resulted in a pregnancy and the birth of her lovely daughter. On one particular morning, she sees this handsome man riding on the beach along with his Arabian horses. She is mesmerized by their beauty and power along with their handsome and virile rider. Their owner is Arik, who is bored and frustrated from a leg injury, and has been watching Rosalie from afar. It is his plan to meet her and in the end, begin an affair. After days of letting her draw the horses and the man himself, he realizes that Rosalie is timid and a little shy and that he will have to be patient to win her in the end. He proposes that he show her the sights of his city. In the end, for Rosalie it is a loosing battle and she surrenders to his charms trying to guard her heart. What she fears happens and she falls deeply for Arik full well knowing that he will never commit. He is a man who’s proud, arrogant and always gets his own way. In order to protect herself from further heartbreak, she leaves without a goodbye. Arik is furious when he can’t find her and he doesn’t count on how deeply he feels for her until she’s gone.

What Rosalie does not know is that Arik and the King (her brother-in-law) are related so when he shows up at the birthday celebration for the young Prince it’s a shock to say the least and tensions rise!

For the Sheikh’s Pleasure is truly a magical story full of passion, tenderness and discovery for both Rosalie and Arik.

Rafiq intends for Belle to carry out her royal duties – both in public and in private. And it isn’t long before she succumbs to the sultry heat of the desert and to Rafiq’s seduction. No longer his unwilling wife, Belle has become the Sheikh’s very willing lover…
Review:

From the very beginning, I was captivated, intrigued and on edge as this story begins with a kidnapping, a ferocious storm and two very captivating characters Rafiq (ruler and monarch) and Belle, a marine archaeologist who along with her co-worker was kidnapped and held for ransom. Immediately the stage is set as Belle and Rafiq are thrown together, he her protector and Belle with everything she’s been through, her strength and courage shows throughout in this desert tale.

Belle’s homeland was Australia; she and her sister were for the most part, raised by her mother. Belle is strong, beautiful, hard working and proud. She has come to Q’aroum to explore and excavate a sunken first century trading ship. She and her co-worker are kidnapped by Rafiq’s cousin and the ransom demanded is the “Peacock’s Eye” not only very valuable but of importance to the people of Q’aroim. For generations it has been the gift of the Sheikh to his bride and Rafiq has given it up in order to save Belle and her co-worker!

Rafiq, is like no other sheikh or monarch…….his character reminds me of something out of “The Arabian Nights”. He’s handsome, intelligent, fearsome and very proud and he wants Belle……he wants her for his bride! Sparks fly off of these two characters as they both fight their attraction to each other and along the way find their way into a romance you won’t forget. A tale of East and West, two such different cultures and people who find a bond, mutual respect and love!
This is Annie West’s first "sheikh" book and I personally feel was exceptional, full of intrigue, chemistry and a wonderful romance set on a desert isle.

Review:

This book absolutely consumed me from the very beginning to the end……. that’s how incredible it was…….powerful, so intense it absolutely made me breathless. Riveting, emotional, sad, just a wonderful story, not only about love, but also about healing hearts, healing an extremely ill child and mending family hurts and old wounds. But most important about finding peace, joy and love!

Costa’s made Sophie feel like a tart. He didn’t want nor need her, well he actually did need her, and he needed her bone marrow for a transplant in order to heal his sick child. However, this beautiful young woman was related to his deceased wife and reminded him of her and her inability to be a good wife and mother. Despite all of this, both Costa’s and Sophie were attracted to each other both by body and soul. Whenever he was near, she felt alive and despite herself, she still wanted him. Lust and Sex? Of course and Sophie knew where she stood and in the end could not resist him.

For Costa’s he fought his attraction for Sophie every inch of the way. He was always in control and tried not to weaken. She again delivers and entertains her reader’s with a powerful and intense reading experience. I promise, you won’t be sorry reading the Greek’s Convenient Mistress.
