CHRISTMAS AT BRAVO RIDGE - Christine Rimmer

Title: CHRISTMAS AT BRAVO RIDGE

Author: CHRISTINE RIMMER

Line: Silhouette Special Edition

Release month: December

The S-Factor: Sensual and Simmering

Back-Blurb:

OOPS, SHE DID IT AGAIN!

Well, if lightning didn’t strike twice, then how could a night of passion with her former lover, Matt Bravo, leave Corrine Lonnigan pregnant with his child. . . for the second time? They already had a beautiful little girl, and they’d finally come to terms with their can’t-live-with-can’t-live-without-each-other relationship. And now this!

Texas tycoon Matt Bravo had let Corrie slip through his fingers five years ago, and he was not about to make the same mistake again. He had to convince her that he was the man for her, now and forever. To make this a Christmas to remember – for all four of them. . .

Review: ♥♥♥♥♥

Right at the start the sexual tension between this couple is evident. It may have been five years, but the air hums with electricity when the two of them even just think about each other – never mind being in the same room together.

Matt brings Kira home after a week-end visit. When he arrives, Corrie is sitting there with half-empty wine bottles in front of her. Of course, you know right then and there what’s going to happen. Christine Rimmer does it up right. They tease each other, they poke at each other, until one of them finally breaks. The tension rises higher and higher until they both explode.

Then. . . along comes – Matt’s mom. Oh no, she didn’t find them in bed together. She had left her husband and needed somewhere to stay. Where else would she go?

This is part of an ongoing series by this author, but it stands alone beautifully. I have read a few of the other books in the series. It’s not at all necessary to read any of the other books to be able to follow this one, though it does bring a niceness to it when you recognize some of the secondary characters.

If your mom living with the mother of your child isn’t bad enough, Christine brings in more twists. A hard, domineering father, a fiancĂ© who’s a pastor, several siblings, dancing on the bar. Whoa, back up a sec there – did you say a fiancĂ© who’s a pastor? I'll leave you to figure that one out.

Once I got started on this book, I found it very difficult to put down. Christine’s imagination is only outdone by her way with words. I was laughing and crying at the same time. I struggled right along with Corrine over the decisions she must make, yet laughed at the irony of the situations that came up even as these decisions were being made.

Though Ms Rimmer’s list of published books is long, she still writes with a freshness that warms the heart, even as it keeps you smiling, and turning the pages to see what happens next. I would recommend this book to anyone.
